Complex flavors. Massive hop aroma and bitterness.

Had on-tap at the Happy Valley Brewing Co. Poured into a goblet.

L: Pours a clear dark copper color. 2 fingers of off-white head and sticky lacing.

S: Caramel malts and citrusy hops. Pineapple and pine.

T/F: Big time malt forward DIPA with notes of caramel and bread. Thick body, and gives way to a very nice hop profile... tropical fruits, pineapple and mango mixed with citrus. Evergreen in the background and surprisingly smooth. The malts blunt the hop bitterness and it's dangerously drinkable.

O: Very nice malt heavy double IPA... very smooth and flavorful. One of the best beers over at Happy Valley.

Much better than the barnstormer ipa. I have yet to try all the beers at happy valley because this one is fantastic.

I had this a couple times -once at the pub and again from the growler shared with tenderbranson69 poured chilled in a tulip.

The color is a resplendent golden with light haze and thick white head with lace that sticks well The smell is great -plenty of tropical hop aromas which are slightly tangerine and maybe just a splash of pineapple and grapefruit mixed in for good measure. The feel is very hop forward which it ought to be with a name like -"Le Monster" there is a slight cushioning of malt but finish is more on the dry side with strong bitter finish.

The taste is excellent with mostly hops shining through in the taste combined with a slight alcohol but very mild amount of sweetness more intensely tropical with a light citrus and maybe a subtle pine if you look for it with good malt base and the hops continue in a long bitter juicy finish which brings you back for more. This is a seriously good Imperial IPA, no scrimping on hops with plenty of aroma and flavor but also not a beer you want to have more than a couple of just based on abv even though it is not too high it is so smooth you might not realize it is an 8% beer

Iced tea color, minimal head, muted nose of caramel malts and pine, assertive piney hops though. Pretty nice.
