Optics are as expected. Aroma is dominated by coffee - mostly your normal dark roast variety. Flavor is good, the base beer is unexceptional but the coffee is blended in well, not too dominating but not too distant. Mostly dark / French roast flavors. Mouthfeel is a tad watery, but not distractingly so.

Although I usually don't focus on stout's - this is one of my favorites. THe coffee adds a great finish and it does have a great body.

I enjoyed this on nitro at HVBC -served chilled in a snifter.
The color is black with no light passing through and thin tan head with a little lace in spots. The smell is excellent -so much coffee with a vanilla odor that compliments in a way that reminds me of iced coffee. The feel is smooth with some roast and a little spice from the coffee but not really bitter...I guess the vanilla gives it a smoothness combined with the nitro delivery.
The taste is excellent -it follows the aroma with an intensity of coffee in the flavor that is unrivaled in other strong porters/stouts of this abv level IMO. I really think the vanilla adds something to the malt sweetness that supports maybe even amplifies the cocoa type character in the roast character of the coffee. Overall I can't say enough good things -one of the best beers I had if not THE best at HVBC currently -definitely try this if you like coffee porter/stouts.
