On tap, nitro
Poured into can glass. Black body, thick brown-tan frothy head with huge aroma of toasty coffee beans, caramel/vanilla sweetness, roasty malts.
Taste follows the nose - huge coffee with a medium to light roasted flavor, milk chocolate and a big wave of caramel and vanilla sweetness. I assume there is some light lactose element in this beer which really brings out that caramel creaminess that helps even out the bitter and fresh roastiness of the coffee and the malts. The lactose presence is still small enough to suggest a non-lactose stout. This brew is so well balanced and the mouthfeel is just as great as the nose and taste. Creamy, velvety, and a medium to thin viscosity. This is easy drinking and strikes a great balance between sweetness, bitterness, and tannic astringent acids.
Edit: I think nitro serves this brew well. Still really good on normal tap, some extra bitterness, but I prefer the nitro.

Tasting notes from 11/21/16
Had on-tap @ Final Gravity in Roseville, CA
Appearance - Served up on a pint, the brew is dark cola brown with an everpresent thin film across the surface. Good lacing consisting of thin, broken sheets and tiny spots dotting the spaces between.
Smell - Notes of milk chocolate, coffee and a faint whiff of mint.
Taste - Follows the nose. Creamed coffee, milk chocolate and lesser note of mint that seems to linger in the finish.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with moderate 'carbonation' and a silky texture. Smooth and easy drinker as you might expect from a nitro brew.
Overall - Pretty good brew. I'm not usually a fan of nitro brews as it tends to kill the flavor, but there's enough kick here that it's a non-issue. I do like more stouts to have a more roasty punch though, but all-in-all I'd definitely order this again.
