Appearance - The beer was peppery black with a modest tan head.
Smell - The nose was pretty straight forward with dark roasted malts. It was what stouts used to smell like before adjuncts.
Taste - My initial impression was to think this was what stouts were like before adjuncts. The malts were dark, perhaps a little char. Perhaps there was a hint of cocoa, but there was nothing bold about this one. Light bitterness lingered in the finish.
Mouthfeel - The body seemed closer to flat than nitro.
Overall - It was a pretty run-of-the-mill adjunct free stout, but with nitro.
