375ml bottle with an extended thin neck. No dating information found.
Dark brown colored body, with a garnet red back lit edge. Thin off white head quickly disappears, leaving a tiny island and thin ring.
Big aroma upon opening of bourbon barrel and smoky oak. Also molasses, dark fruit, and caramel malts.
Taste is heavy with the bourbon barrel, with thick vapors. Flavors of date, fig, sweet caramel, molasses, and smoky oak. Long lasting aftertaste is a crescendo of the main flavors.
More than medium mouthfeel. Close to sticky but certainly clinging. High ABV% leads to mouth numbness. Quiet carbonation, but removing the cap did result in a small amount of excited foam.
A true sipper. Immediate burps bring up chocolate and smoked dark fruit.
