maybe the best beer i have ever had from grist, beats even their berliner i think, but i am a sucker for sorachi ace hops, and this has plenty of them, no doubt about it. a funny almost green hue to a slightly cloudy pale ale colored base, a full inch of white head on top of the nonic pint they pour it into at the taproom. great nose, that tropical lemon creamy sorachi i love so much is right up front with some lemongrass notes, and a straw summery field grain complexion that is simple but not boring or absent, a really nice foundation for my favorite hop! the flavor is lead by sorachi, lemons again, slight candy coasted sweetness in here, but its clean on the back end. drinkable forever, this is exactly what i like in a white ipa, its not belgian at all in the yeast, and not weighty with spices and herbs, its just a wheat based ipa. the wheat body is medium, but very soft on the palate, and with all this carbonation, its super drinkable and refreshing. these are the types of beers i like to brew, and the kind i like to drink, grist has done a fantastic job with this one, they really need to put it in a bottle.
