8/4...pours fresh reddish amber with foam that settles out. Bready toffee nose, faint hop. Some cola notes. Cherry sweet harsh bitter. Astringent throughout. Watery mouthfeel. So so.

Aroma is very malty, a variety of breads with a hint of tobacco. The flavor is bread/malts, fruit/dark fruit, a hint of tobacco and a mix of earthy and mild tartness in the finish.

On tap at the hotel. Nice color, light head, smooth taste...not a lot of hops but a smooth slightly caramel malty taste. Very easy to drink.

Poured out a clear, reddish color with a small white head of foam. It smelled of bready malt with touch of grassy hops. It had a sweet malty flavor with a grassy hop bitterness. It was crisp and smooth.

Deep red color, whitish head, no lacing. Malty smell, no apparent hops. Sweet malty taste. Light crisp mouthfeel. If a beer were aiming to be average in every way then this would win a prize.

Thick, creamy light brown head. Deep amber/red color. Faint, caramel malt smell. Toasty grain and sweet malt flavor, limited on the yeast and hops. Clean finish, medium body, average to low carbonation. An easy drinker; nothing special but not bad at all.

This brew has a flat taste with the first sip and it does not improve as one drains the bottle. The color and head are fine with a fair aroma. But I have now consumed two bottles of a six pack and I can't envision drinking the rest.
I would like Wisconsin Brewing Company to succeed but this won't do it. Pretty bad stuff when compared to the local competition around Madison.

Updating my earlier review with the second sample, this time poured into a Perfect Pint:

L=Rich dark red, with nice foamy head.

S=Maltiness, with sweetness--raisin or brown sugar.

T=A faint malt backbone with sweetness...very little hops.

F=Not much body or carbonation...a bit too watery.

O=Another good, but not great, offering from WBC. Definitely designed to be a session beer, which it achieves. That said, the flavor is very faint--reminded me of a Killian's more than a Wisconsin Amber.

12oz bottle. Served in a snifter glass.

Pours a dark copper, amber body, two finger offwhite head with good retention, lots of lacing. Looks a bit too dark for me, but what do I know? Nose is malty; primarily toffee and grains; a bit of caramel, toasted grains, a bit of a floral nose. Flavour is similarly malty, but with a nice toasted grain presence, caramel, toffee. Minerals. There isn't much else; it's very toffee forward. Not bad, but a fairly boring, straightforward malty flavour profile. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, good carbonation, just with a bland amount of depth and finish. Overall, a decent drinker, but I would expect a beer of this quality and flavour profile to be cheaper than this.

Pours a dense, frothy, tan head. Soft malt aroma with a hint of toasted malt. Lustrous crimson color. Starts with an interesting mix of toasted malt, sweet malt, and caramel. There are floral hop behind this, and there is a slight peak in that, with a precipitous drop back into maltiness. The finish is biscuits with a touch of caramel.

This isn't too bad. I'm never a fan of caramel notes, so this isn't a big hit with me, but it's commendable and a really nice mix of malt flavors. Nice job by whatever kids puts this one together.
