This is mischaracterized as a dopplebock. You might call it a maibock because of the season, but it's more like an Oktoberfest -- amber color, light hops, short-lived head. I'm rating it as a Marzen/Oktoberfest.
Appearance and aroma are pretty standard to the style. Wild rice shows up as a pleasant, slightly floral sweetness in the flavor. Finish is bitter and long-lived. Medium-bodied. Alcohol content is on the strong side for an Oktoberfest.

First off, this beer is somewhat frightening to me because I have a weird allergy to fermented rice -- Kirby's old Wild Rice beer from Capital wasn't as bad to me as Budweiser, so I took a chance.
Code 3161 on the can bottom. November 12, 21? Poured into my tall Becher.
L -- Clear, copper-amber with a very dense, light cream colored head that holds well through the life of the drink.
S -- Toasted bread with light DMS and mild caramel back.
T -- Sweet, toasted bread with a nutty character and a touch of herbal hops and peppery alcohol. The nuttiness follows through the aftertaste with a sweet malt chewiness that borders on a fruitiness.
M -- Soft and smooth mouthfeel with a medium body.
O -- This is very much an amped up Märzen -- much like Kirby's original Autumnal Fire, but not quite as heavy. It's not as rich and full-bodied as most Doppelbocks, but still delicious and quenches that big lager thirst.

Wild Rice Marzen: that's the story.
Wild rice dominates the show, the marzen is in the back ground. American marzen is the base beer. This tastes best a little on the warm side.
If you enjoy wild rice (grain) don't pass it up.
Look : A semi transparent orange amber body. Impressive off white head.
Smooth, not really all that sweet. Low amount of hops.
Nice mouth feel, not thin. Malty
12oz can, code: 3161
