The hippie from the Syndicate is an Imperial Saison of a whopping 10%
The saison style is based on the special Belgian saison yeast, which has a special ability to ferment far down, thereby delivering a beer with low residual sweetness and a lovely fruity taste.

Copenhagen 9/3 2024. 33 cl bottle from Føtex, Mimersgade, Kbh. NV. Syndikatets usual design with a drawing of a female Hippie wearing sunglasses.
Pours murky amber with a small white head. Stable. Settles as thin, unbroken layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with a sweet, fruity and boozy odor mingling with tart notes. Plums and pear. Rough alcohol. Citrus and unripe tart berries.
Low carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, flat texture.
Flavor is fairly intense with a strong fermented sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a boozy undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish semi-dry and soaked in alcohol.
Imperial indeed. A bit strange take on a Saison.
