Landslide pours a slightly blurred, aged brick red. The light tan head sits thinly on top, and puts little effort into sticking around.
Caramel dominates the scent. Toasted bread lies in between the sweet dressing and a seriously dampened earth, and floral hop pungency.
The flavor follows perfectly. This is a very malt forward ale, perfect for the blistering cold of winter on the river. The sweet caramel richly dominates, and it is very welcomed.
Landslide is full, sticky, and malty. The caramel is almost syrupy, and it is just right. It has an earthy bitter bite in the end, which again is wonderfully appropriate.
Overall, Thunder Island made a great winter warmer with Landslide. I would gladly indulge again given the opportunity. It's rich and smooth, and balances perfectly just like the blend of the winter and spring seasons. Cheers.
