a tasty and sturdy wet hopped ipa, but not a particularly unique one. its the scenery here, right along the river, that made our experience here awesome, the beers were good, but they werent memorable to me really, especially compared to some of the other wet hopped beers we had around the northwest, hard to measure these up against the best, but they re new, they were solid, and we had fun, so no complaints. this has to be centennial or simcoe driven, or both, its oily and dank, loaded with green drippy hop goodness, and has a simple but hearty barley malt base big enough for this to drink balanced, some medium crystal in it for sure, i think the proportions here are nice. the thing is though, the hops dont offer anything unique here, and carry an odd skunky vibe with them, i know sometimes thats just the way the wet hops are, a little onion character in the greenness, so its not a big detractor, but ive had other beers with these hops this fall and not had this come up the same way. i get hints of honey, fresh cut pine and sap, and a little stinky weed. its good and its sturdy, but its a little bit run of the mill, if i am being critical. tough to beat the setting though, what a spot they have here, wow!
