Cherry Vanilla Porter
The beer that put us on the map as a brewery. This full flavored, medium bodied Porter is delicately sweet with all natural flavors of cherries and vanilla. A fan favorite all year round, so shut up & put it in your piehole!

Pours a dark mahogany brown and settles the same in the glass with a foamy tan head that lingers and provides moderate lacing.
The nose includes nice cocoa, vanilla, and stone fruit aromas, and that is precisely where the taste lands. Delicious.
The mouthfeel is medium, fitting the beer well. I’d gladly try this again.

Brown pour with ruby highlights and small head…kinda looks like Dr Pepper. Nutty aroma with a bunch of cherry…kinda smells like Dr Pepper in a brown ale? Some roast, lots of cherry. Kinda tastes like Dr Pepper with some brown ale and water. Thin. Ungreat

Enjoyed on tap at Big E's steakhouse in Tusayan, AZ; first experience with Historic Brewing
Poured into a pint glass
P deep cola/mahogany w/ a bit of translucence around the edges; 1f foamy khaki cap
N med nose of sweet, inviting toasted malt, nuttiness, and toffee
T tasty and on the rich side, surprisingly; toffee, toasted malt, and nuttiness, dotted with hints of cherry throughout
Mf med to med-full bodied w/ med-high carb
O a really enjoyable porter- would definitely have again given the opportunity!

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery snifter
A: Pours dark brown with a faint ruby hue and a frothy khaki head that settles to a light layer and leaves a little light lacing.
S: Roasty toasty with a touch of char, milk chocolate, vanilla, toffee sweetness, and faint cherry.
T: Roasty, milk chocolate, vanilla, a touch of char, soft touch of cherry that shows up on the back end as it warms, toasty bready malt, and some toffee sweetness.
M: Medium body, mild carbonation, faintly creamy.
O: First had this one years ago on an Arizona road trip so we had to grab some more when we passed through Flagstaff recently.
Could swear I remember it being a bit richer, but there's something to be said for a sessionable porter with some fun character. Wish the cherry came through a bit stronger, but it's still a tasty sipper. An imperial version would be amazing.

Had on tap. Brown edges to the black body, khaki pinky finger's worth of foam. Smells like cherry vanilla cola with some mildly roasted chocolate malt underneath. Taste is roasted and earthy up front a hint of coffee grounds, dried sweet cherry, vanilla and chocolate slowly emerge and build to a sweeter finish, comes across kind of artificial though. Feel is medium-light bodied, crisp but too high in carb for style. I get it, you are going for the soda idea, but the porter base feels dragged along against its will, but will say if you like the cherry-vanilla cola you will probably enjoy this

Cola color. Some cherry aroma and vanilla. The head is there, but fades fast. Taste the same. Not as creamy as I expected. I expected a more stout mouth feel. Probably better than my rating.

12oz can poured into a tulip
A- pours brown in color with a one-finger fizzy khaki head that has virtually zero retention
S- smells just like cherry Dr pepper, with undertones of chocolate, roasted barley and a hint of vanilla
T- as with the aroma, it tastes like Dr pepper up front. The finish gives some cherry and vanilla, with a linger of chocolate and Dr pepper
M- light body with low carbonation leads to an almost flat mouthfeel that continues into the finish, very watery

Stopped in Williams, AZ on the way home from the Grand Canyon and thought I'd go to the Historic Brewing place there which was next to the restaurant I was eating at. Since I was in a rush, I picked up this one at random from the fridge and took it home. As someone who doesn't have that many porters, I'm not sure how this would stack against similar ones. What I DO know is that the beer is... alright. I taste coffee and a hint of vanilla, sometimes cacao, but no cherry no matter how many times I try to, which disappointed me since cherry is one of my favorite flavors (when done right, which is rare). Not sure I'd get this one again, but I certainly wouldn't turn it down.

I had both pumpkin and cherry vanilla versions of this. The cherry vanilla is too scattered in flavors to be good, so this will review only pumpkin. Poured medium black, and a nose of al pumpkin. I really liked this and usually do not care for pumpkin beers as they are too much pumpkin. This was a great balance of roasted porter with hint of pumpkin.
