Bourbon Double Cream Stout (BDCS) is brewed with massive amounts of roasted malts, boiled with milk sugar, fermented with an ale yeast and then aged in fresh Kentucky Bourbon barrels.
2022 release: This year's batch was aged in 7-14yr old Kentucky Bourbon barrels, almost identical to our first couple of years. Aged now nearly 8 months.

The pour is stout black with a quarter inch light brown head that left sparse lacing. Pretty good for a barrel aged imperial stout. Not amazing, but pretty good.
The feel is just shy of viscous; I actually expected a little more heft but I’m guessing the time in the barrel lightened it up a bit.
The taste features chocolate and coffee and vanilla, a little bourbon and a hint of roast from the malt. No discernible hops. Very smooth and almost soft taste.
The feel continues the smooth; this is far to easy to drink. I had to force myself to slow down.
OA, another outstanding stout from Ozark Brewing Company. Very happy to have been able to drink a whole can finally.

12 oz can, 2024 release purchased at the brewery this week
Pours jet black with thick layer of khaki colored head. Good head retention. Pleasant aroma of woody and vanilla bourbon on top of chocolate, a touch of sweetness. Similar taste, pretty smooth and not much sweetness from the milk stout base. Fuller bodied, silky mouthfeel.

12 ounce can. Body pours an opaque black with a finger of tan foamy head. Light lacing.
Aroma features the barrel, vanilla, oak and chocolate.
Taste follows nose but the flavor is cranked up to 11. A heavy and sweet malt bill countermands the bitterness that appears on finish. A faint wisp of brewer's licorice and a touch of dark fruit add nicely to the big chocolate flavor. Only a bit of the ABV is apparent, so this one drinks far easier than its ABV might suggest.
Mouthfeel is very good, soft and appropriate carbonation support.

Name: BDCS 2018

Canned: 2018/2019

I have another one of these in the cellar. I am have waited and waited to drink this beer, then I forgot. I am using a pint glass and serving the beer at 46 degrees. The pour created a frothy one-fingered, light tan head with average retention. The somewhat quick dissipation left a foamy layer on top of the glass. The beer's color is inky black with dark brown hues, charting at SRM 34, and opaque. The appearance of the beer is average for this style.
Nosing the glass, I smell dark chocolate, coffee, raisin, caramel, molasses, burnt sugar, light char, and earthy dirt. Smelling the beer again, I detect bourbon, oak, resin, light smoke, vanilla, and anise.
The first sips of the beer, I taste vanilla, oak, resin, light smoke, char, anise, molasses, bittersweet chocolate, caramel, earthy dirt, and wood resin. After a few swallows, I notice medium roasted coffee, toffee, bourbon, orange, light floral, and a malty sweetness.
The mouthfeel is chewy and smooth, finishing creamy. The body is heavy and has low carbonation.
I am enjoying these years, and not tasting any off-flavors. The beer is rich and full bodied milk stout with tons of flavor. This my first foray into the Ozark Beer Co. and I am looking forward to next beer from there. I am glad I was able to enjoy these beers.

12oz can served in a slightly tulipy stemmed glass. 2023 vintage, no other date that I see. Got it from @russpowell in NBS BIF #18.
Pours black, opaque, small brown ring of head, slow active carbonation visible around the edges. Smell is black licorice and black coffee, molasses and oaky booze, char and vanilla.
Taste is similar, but throw in a huge dose of caramel, toning down all the bitterness associated with char and coffee, brings about more of a chocolate malt flavor.
Mouthfeel is creamy, rich, smooth, but nowhere near heavy. Overall, this is an excellent beer.

Cola black with a thin mocha head that quickly settles into a crown. Dark malt, licorice and marshmallow in the nose. Similar taste with some slight nuttiness and leather behind. A hint cinnamon-like wood in there, too. Thin feel with tight, soft fizz. Quality brew, but not a wow beer. (2023 version.)

Very good head production and decent retention, given the ABV and barrel treatment. After settling into the glass, it retains a lovely thin but noticeable dark brown ring of foam.
Nose prominently features bourbon and oak, but not at the expense of the rich, roasty malt base. Notes of chocolate, red grape, prune, vanilla, honeycomb, molasses, coffee, and a touch of anise.
Quite creamy on the palate, more than usual for a milk stout. The cream and vanilla notes blend harmoniously with the sweet bourbon profile, likely leading to that unusually strong character. Roastiness is present but not over the top. Impressively smooth, both in flavor and mouthfeel. Additional tasting notes of toast, light coffee, red grape, and semi-sweet chocolate.
Supremely smooth BBA imperial (milk) stout, but it reminds me quite a bit of Dragon's Milk (but smoother). The creaminess borders on cloying, if not quite reaching that point; the bourbon is fairly simple and straightforward; the malt base could use a bit more oomph.
Very tasty beer, but for one generally considered a bit of a legend, I'm a little let down.

Wow. This one is cleaner than using Niagara Falls as a bidet. I mean, it’s smoother than Alain Delon on Xanax. It sits there like a lake, any lake, your favorite lake, at 6 am before the frat boys tear it to shreds after countless Natty Lights.
See ya.

Sampling a cellar temp 12 oz can poured into my snifter, vintage 2022 but no other date stamp on the label. Received in a trade courtesy of @russpowell. thank you!
the beer pours a rich dark coffee brown color and no light passes through my glass when I hold it to a light source.
A dense creamy head of 1 cm of tan foam rises up from the pour and quickly fades to a sturdy edge layer that sticks around throughout my sampling. There are also a few small islands spinning in the center of the glass. Also get some scattered lacing when I swirl the glass or take a sip.
Aroma is malt forward with milk chocolate, vanilla, brown sugar and a good whiff of bourbon note. No warm or fusol alcohol more of the sweet side of bourbon. Also no hop presence here at all on the nose.
First sip reveals a very smooth textured medium bodied beer with fine soft and gentle carbonation. The carb is very fine and gentle, which all makes for a velvety smooth physical experience.
Flavor is what the nose advertises, with sweet chocolate, brown sugar and some vanilla, all giving way to bourbon notes and a little warming on the swallow. Bourbon flavor lingers and also coats my lips. I do get a little bit of a coffee note in the back of each swallow too. Again, no hops to be found.
Quite a nice imperial milk stout, one that I would gladly drink again.
