Part of Sockeye's mixed 12-pack, picked up at Albertsons in Missoula, MT
12oz can poured into a Level Belgian-style tulip

P pours a clear gold w/ a small white cap; very quickly recedes to ring
N med to med-bold nose sweet grainy corn notes, salinity, and a light lime presence
T sweet corn-like grains offset by tangy lime; simple profile; not bad at all
Mf light-med to med bodied w/ med carb
O a solid lager, imo- I dig it; decent flavor and drinkability

On-tap at the brewery, served in a pint tumbler. Clear effervescent pale/straw with a small soapy white head. Clean limey fruitiness and grains, a little soapy, the lime character is the strongest part of the beer. There is a creamy, mellow sweetness with flavors of grains, bready malt, snappy and earthy at times...lagery yeast character...I liked it.

12oz can from Hops & Bottles. Deep golden color, clear, foamy head fades away. Lime is first on the nose. Taste follows with mostly lime flavor, not much of the lager present, although it provides a nice lovely body.

a new one for the summer, a stronger take on a mexican lager, done with lime. its solid, refreshing enough, but there are also some curious choices here, and this ends up tasty but not as sessionable or delicious as it could be. why make this 6% abv? like it would serve its purpose better close to 4% abv in my opinion, the kind of style i want to drink outside all day in hot weather, this isnt boozy or anything, but strong enough to slow me down and limit my total intake a bit. its also a little grainy to me, dry sure, but more cereal character from the malt than i need in something like this, even though the body remains light, and it comes at the expense of the best parts of the mexican lager yeast profile, if indeed that is what they used here, its hard to even appreciate anything from the fermentation in this, which is usually a hallmark of the style that i love, subtle as it is when done well. the lime part is fine, its obvious, but to me it sort of tastes like those hint of lime tortilla chips, suggesting maybe something other than straight up actual limes were used to flavor this, not to say i dont like it, i do, but a little unnatural on the lime perhaps. still, the dosage of it is fine, the beer still has a dry crispness to it, the carbonation is there, and this remains summery and pleasant despite my criticism. i am happy sockeye has added this to their lineup, it could be slightly better than it is, im being too harsh for something thats just supposed to be fun i know, but these guys could have made this amazing...
