This is stylized as an AIPA and it is much like the way they should be brewed.
That said, Local Motive's Looks are average. Smells tell me the malts are balanced and the fruits are growing. Then on first swallow, the malt-fruit Tastes are balanced by just enough bitter hops. Sits refreshing in the mouth.
Bought at the M&S shop at Glasgow Central, I am glad that the M&S network is helping small brewers like Fallen Brewing get wider distribution and expanding the craft market. (I've had at least five brewers I probably wouldn't find elsewhere, courtesy of the M&S convenience-craft strategy.) My first from Fallen, I went on their website and see their dedication to their craft and their land; converting an abandoned train station into a brewery in a rural area on a triangle between Glasgow and Edinburgh. They have a professional video introducing the brewery and, it seems from Local Motive, a good product. Good luck, mates !

330ml Can from Lidl (£1.39):
This one gets off to a great start with plenty tropical notes to go with the citrus & touches of caramel malt on the nose in the early going of what was quite a fresh beer initially. I managed to get some nice mango & apricot bursts towards the middle & a bitter pine aroma a little further on but things definitely started to fade come the taste sadly. Definitely not quite as fresh tasting as the nose hinted at, there was some of the tropical fruits in there with the pine bitterness but neither seemed all that pronounced & the caramel malt wasn't as strong either.

A 330ml can with a BB of Feb 2018. Acquired a little while back from a webshop. The label describes it as a hoppier version of their session beer; dry-hopped with Mosaic.
A: Poured into an IPA glass. Can-conditioned and rather lively. A hazy orange-amber colour with plentiful floating sediment and intense carbonation. Produces a vast head of fluffy white foam with good retention - this lasts for a while before slowly reducing to a persistent surface layer. Good lacing.
S: Aroma of fruity hops with an almost perfumed character; hints of tropical fruit, mandarine, citrus, melon, white grape, mild caramel malt and earthy yeast. Lovely.
T: Tastes of bright, fruity hops with notes of tropical fruit, citrus, zest, mild melon, subtle leafiness, caramel malt and earthy yeast. Slightly sweet, followed by a crisp, hop-driven bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, with spritzy carbonation and decent body for the strength. Some light hop action on the palate. Aftertaste of fruity hops, citrus, mild caramel and earthy yeast.
O: Very nice - a tasty little session brew. Looks great, while the aroma and flavour are stuffed with fruity hops underpinned by yeast and malt. Body is alright. Highly drinkable and well worth sampling if you come across it.
