Cape Canaveral, our maiden excursion in the series, is a strong sour ale boasting an enviable cargo of papaya, with esters of grapefruit and pineapple from our tamed microflora.

its seems almost impossible that this is as strong as it is, i mean wow, what a beer! i cant believe its this strong, it drinks delicate, easy, and without any booziness to it at all, literally none. its clear and golden, almost still looking, and with some seriously fish food looking sediment bits swirling around in the glass even though i pour it real carefully. the sourness is pretty mild, at least it drinks not overly acidic to me, notes of guava and mango and peach to me, starburst candy, white wine too, but not overly vinous either. for being fermented a bunch of times and obviously a weird process, the beer isnt all that nuanced, which i find kind of odd, it doesnt taste as process intensive as it likely is, but its clean and good. i could use a little more funk honestly, but i like the light honey body on it and the sediment doesnt make it heavy at all when i drink it. some sweetness at the end, an almost lagered crispness that shouldnt be in a sour but somehow is, and even though its still, its really bright to me. i didnt expect to like this, and as such it sat in the cellar and then the fridge for some time before i got into it, but i had nothing to be afraid of. killer beer, a little rugged with all the sediment, but man, they have done something quite unique here! recommended.

Sampled at SAVOR 2017. This might be the strongest sour ever, but it was surprisingly mellow with a clean and smooth finish. It had great crisp papaya character, with well balanced tartness and sweetness. Amazing.

This is the sour that finally turned me on to sours. The sourness is prominent, but not to the point of mouth-puckering. And it's refreshing despite the high ABV. I felt inclined to take a few gulps at a time, which is not wise because the alcohol catches up pretty quickly.

I pick one of these up every time I see a few. Next time, I'll likely grab 2 or 3.

Acidic tart lemon citrus fruit especially oranges some funk sour apple

Taste: nothing like the smell a hint of tart lemon and that's being generous followed by some orange bread yeast and a slight funkiness the beer finishes dry with no aftertaste.

Feel: light watery body dry finish. Hides the abv very well though.

Overall: not a very good sour. I wouldn't drink this again almost no sourness. Only compliment is hides the abv well.

Great imperial sour, does not impart a "boozy" flavor despite being high gravity. Pleasantly sour with tropical fruits hitting palate and a dry finish. If you can get ahold of this beer I highly recommend giving it a try.

Super smooth sour for as high as it is in ABV, not too overpowering in sourness and a really relaxed body.
