12oz Bottle
This came back to Chicagoland courtesy of Wil. Thanks a million, dude! Pearadox is the palest of goldens. A few particulates are suspended throughout thanks to my haphazard pour. It shines polished 24kt when backlit. The head was clean white. I say "was" because it disappeared in a matter of seconds and by "disappeared" I mean, it's gone. A few streams of carbonation meander to the surface while smaller streams rush.
You can smell the minerality off the bat. It comes from two place, the pink Himalyan salt and the wild bugs, both of which bring wet stone and brine. There's an orchard quality but if I didn't know pears were added I would assume that it's from the yeast activity. There's a soft tartness and a soft sweetness. The sweetness leans toward pie crust. The tartness towards fruity acidity. This smells good. Subdued a bit, maybe, but good.
The flavor profile is where it opens up. The pear kicks it off brightly and a little tart. There are some white grape notes. The salt and wet stone minerality are abundant and welcomed. There's a decent amount of salt in this guy and it adds substantially to the flavor. Again, there's a touch of pie crust like sweetness that fits perfectly. This isn't the most complex driven wild out there but the flavors present are concentrated and fit like a glove.
The body is light off the bat. The carbination on the pour seemed frenzied and active but has become a little flaccid as it sits. There's enough effervescence to tickle the lips but not enough to bring forth a frothiness like would be appropriate. A soft tartness runs from front to back and finishes nice and dry, leaving you wanting more.
Pearadox is yet another good beer from D9. A boost in carbonation, and therefore, mouthfeel would help but this beer is rock solid as is. The pear is bright and acidic and the pink Himalayan salt is, possibly, the most flavorful salt I've yet come across in a beer. Thanks again, Wil!

Sampled at SAVOR 2017. This had a nice, crisp, and clean scent and taste, It had good pear character that was well integrated. It was not too sour, so it was easy to drink.

12oz bottle poured in a steamed glass. The look is cloudy straw color with a fizzy white head, some spotted lacing when consumed! The smell is like fresh cut pears, some funk and light earthiness. The taste is straight tart pear juice and thats about it (great stuff). The feel is medium with lighter carbonation and a subtle dryness in the back. Overall d9 will be my new favorite local sour beer since I no longer purchase Wicked Weed because of them selling out to inbev!
