Copenhagen 28/10 2021. 47,3 cl can from Meny, Borups Allé, Frb. F. A very relaxed brewer dozing in the swimming pool with a solid gold medal around the neck.
Pours unclear, pale yellow with a small, bubbly white head. Disappears almost completely leaving what looks like apple juice behind. No lacing.
Aroma is medium intense and has a vibe of multi fruit juice. Sweet melon, green apples and a whiff of citrus. The cucumber is pretty subdued.
Strong carbonation, thin, watery, lively and tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly stronger sourness. Aftertaste is tart and a bit sour. Lingers for a bit. Finish is fairly dry.
A quite weird flavoring but it actually works and provides a fresh, tart impression.

Taster at the Circuit. Hazy, pale golden pour, flat. Aroma is cucumber, tartness. Taste adds notes of watermelon and salt. The whole combination makes for a nice summer refresher.

Had a can share of this that a friend brought to poker on 3-28-22.
This came across at a good refreshing representation of the gose style, this one with cucumber. It was funny to see the reactions around the table to the beer as most had not had it before.

Lightly foggy burnt but pale yellow with a short white head dispersing to a uneven bubbly ring.
This exhibits a pleasant, natural tartness that's mildly salty and toasty, accented by a measured cucumber presence before finishing a little chewy dry. Sweet cantaloupe does emerge with time, but is not a primary contributor.
This is a subtle crusher.

I'm curious about this, could be good or bad
Pours a light fizzy 1 finger head that collapses very quickly to nothing, mostly clear light pale golden color
Nose is strange, it actually has a bit of a cheesy funk, with the creamy tart lacto, little tart citrus into an artificial melon character, hint of cucumber, light raw sour bread dough
Taste is a bit better, tart lemony citrus and mild creamy lacto up front, sour with some acidity, a hint of over ripe melon, no cucumber, no spice, very light creamy bread dough, sour dough, a bit flemmy on the finish with a hint of salt, more melon and melon rind
Mouth is med to lighter bod, a touch creamy, med lighter fizzy carb, fair flemmy
Overall what a difference, from just having Westbrook gose to this, this is what I typically expect for an American gose, pretty bland but quite sour, artificial fruit to mask it and promising cucumber but not delivering it. Not a big fan of this one

What an awesome beer. I saw this on the shelf by itself at Total Wine & More in Reston, VA. Didn't even look it up, because it sounded so good. Great can art too.

16 fl oz pull-tab can ran me $2.89 USD plus tax at a beer store in New Orleans, LA.
They nailed the cucumber and melon, both of which are tough to impart into a beer given their lack of flavour intensity under usual circumstances. Both refreshing flavours play brilliantly alongside the subtle sourness and briney saltiness of a gose, yielding an unusually enjoyable hot weather sour sipper that I'd definitely revisit were it not so highly priced.
Ludicrously drinkable...the kind of brew I could gulp down by the pitcher in the Summer.

This is one of those days that is just given over to The CANQuest (tm). I have been running through CANs of all stripes from L to R since awakening today & here we are at a short horizontal. I really like this brewery & when I CAN find their CANs making it my way, I jump on them.
From the CAN: "Unquestionably Original"; "Gose Brewed with CANtaloupe and Cucumber".
It was that last that really caught my attention. I am a fan of Goses to begin with, given their inclusion of sea salt. I also love eating FF&V, dating back to my childhood, CANtinuing into my U.S. Navy career & resuming as an older adult recovering from surgery. I was lavished with FF&V to the point that I became overwhelmed, but I could not believe how good I felt as an involuntary vegetarian. I am back to some meat, but I gotta cop to an affinity to FF&V.
I readied the glass with several slices of cucumber before Crack!ing open the vent & giving it a heavy-handed, aggro Glug. It foamed & fizzed to form ~ a finger of fizzy, foamy, soapy, tawny head with very limited retention. Color was a hazy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5). Nose smelled like salted cucumber slices! Had my salting of the glass with the cucumber slices helped this? Who knows, but it smelled JUST the way I want a salt & cucumber beer to smell on a hot, humid Summer evening. Mmm. Mouthfeel was a tad thin, kinda watery, but that is par for the style's course. Man, it began REALLY salty, then smoothed into CANtaloupe & finally the cucumber asserted itself. The fact that the cucumber only came in at the end indicated that my gilding the lily really did not have a terrific impact on its taste. On the finish, however, I got a lot of salt & cucumber! This was actually what I was going for & I highly recCANmend adding fresh cucumber as available. Yum. It did not reduce the beer's saltiness nor did it overwhelm the CANtaloupe. Deee-lish! YMMV.
