From the upper shoulder of the bottle: "793 10/10/18"
Appearance: The body is cloudy and gold colored. It has a short white head that quickly fades away leaving a surface of nothing but popping bubbles.
Aroma: There is a sour-smelling fruit aroma to the beer. It smells a bit like wine.
Mouthfeel: There is a tart berry flavor to the beer and a sourness without a defined flavor. There is a bit of an apple pumice flavor at the end.
Mouthfeel; The beer opens very tartly. This sharpness carries on through the middle of the beer and it finishes only slightly softer at the end. The beer is dry.
Overall: It is a good sour and tart American Wild Ale but the core aromas and flavors of the beer seem to be buried behind the sharp tartness. The label says this is made "WITH RAISINS AND SPIKENARD" however these characters don't really seem to show up too much. There is some wine-like aroma and apple pumice flavor that might have been a result of the raisins, but overall it tastes a lot like a standard American Wild Ale. It is still very well made, so it is worth drinking if you don't mind the strong character.
