I really want to get into sour beers, and I have yet to find some I truly like. This is not one of them. I get maybe a hint of salt or pretzel. No chocolate. Just tart / sour. Not terrible but just meh.

L: Rose amber, pretty color but really wish I saw more carbonation; with no head or lacing it looks very flat.
S: Slight and indistinguishable sweet and sour notes; not letting too much out of itself from this goblet.
T: Sour yeasty notes typical of a D9 Leipzig. The salt, as hinted in the title, is minimal, and the caramel is tasty but doesn’t present itself to me until finish.
F: Very light in body and carbonation, I wanted more C02.
O: Enjoyable beer, though it fell short of the liveliness and complexity that I wanted to find in it.

L- Somewhat hazy golden/yellow with small off-white head that dissipates quickly
S – Lemon and yeast
T – Lemon up front and throughout – but not overly sour or bitter, just light and crisp. Notes of sugar, yeast, and wheat on the back end.
F – Light to medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation – crisp, light, refreshing
O – A decent gose with some nice bright, crisp lemon notes

Since I spent a couple/few days celebrating CANada Day on 01 July, it only seems right & fitting to spent this four-day weekend drinking, reviewing & rating AmeriCAN-owned & made beers. I am beginning today with the theme of fruit-adjuncts. Cheers!
From the CAN: "Lemon Chiffon Gose"; "Test Your Taste". I will be reviewing this as a Leipzig Gose with a ChANge Request sent.
I did some in-CAN CANgitation before Crack!ing open the vent so as to ensure that any flocculate was in suspension. Following the Crack!, I went with a heavy-handed Glug to form a rolling, fizzy, foamy, soapy finger of bone-white head that faded as quickly as I poured. Bye! Color was a slightly-hazy Straw-Yellow (SRM = > 2, < 4). Nose smelled like the way that Goses should always smell, IMHO! Salty & lemony, like lemonade out on the weatherdecks while underway.
I was never a huge fan of the military lifestyle, but I LOVED getting underway! Nothing like it before or since & I would love to find some way to do a cruise again. The salt spray, the salt air, it was all a great feeling. We were not supposed to take food from the Mess Decks, but drinks were authorized. Coffee, iced tea, lemonade, all of it, usually out on the fantail, smoking cigars & telling sea stories of inport visits. Mmm, what a life!
Mouthfeel was kinda thin & watery, but such is the nature of the style. CAN't dun them too hard as a result. The taste struck a VERY pleasant balance between salty and lemony-tartness. Both were easily discernible & quite tasty as a result. Finish was dry, as adding salt to beer is wont to do, never mind lemon juice! It was quite thirst-quenching on this hot, humid Summer's day, but one was satiating. YMMV.
