From the bottom of the can: "1037 BEST BY 1/03/20"
Appearance: The beer is a dark biscuit brown with a good deal of haze. The head is medium-large with a fluffy white consistency. Good retention and lacing.
Aroma: The beer smells a lot like honeydew.
Taste: There is a very sweet caramel flavor to the beer with a sugary rush of honey and some light toffee in the middle. These flavors drag out to the end where the beer finishes with a light acidic bite. There is a very faint but unmistakable watermelon Jolly Rancher flavor in the aftertaste. This flavor appears right after the caramel and toffee flavors fade out.
Mouthfeel: The beer has a medium body with a light and smooth texture. A fairly clean finish complements this beer with a pleasant taper. Light acidity throughout.
Overall: The brewers call this an "ALE BREWED WITH LIME AND WATERMELON." This beer didn't taste like watermelon while drinking it but it left a clear watermelon flavor in the aftertaste which was redeeming. It smelled a bit more like honeydew but the aroma overall was pleasant. The beer as a whole was a bit odd with the mixture of acidity and caramelization of sugars but it was worth drinking. I doubt I would ever pick it up again but it's enjoyable as a one-off. Pick it up if you like interesting tasting beers.
