Poured from a 16 ounce can into a tulip glass. Very fizzy, audible carbonation. Light gold in color. Head was thin and didn’t last long. Smell is yeasty and acrid, with fermented blackberries, though that’s not an ingredient. Lime, coffee, and spearmint are, though; what’s this going to taste like?
Very strange. I’m not well versed in sour or wild ales, so I’m not sure about accuracy to the style. Very sweet and fruity, with notes of cucumber, watermelon, and definitely the lime. The mint dominates the finish, giving the aftertaste of mouthwash and leaving what should be a heavy ale light and refreshing. I can’t believe this is 14%, it’s not boozy at all, other than the dehydrating effect it had on my throat. I think I like it, but I’m curious to sample more in this style to see how ‘normal’ this beer is.
