Had the Blood Orange Double IPA at the Black Warrior Brewing Tap Room, Tuscaloosa, on draft into tulip.
Pours medium gold with clarity and 1-finger, creamy, off-white head, which quickly dissipates to a persistent film, and leaves splotchy Belgian lace down the glass. A little herbal aroma off pour, then sweet orange aroma and some spice, with the citrus lasting. Begins moderately sweet orange, over a smooth but mild malt body, then citrus crispness manifests, and finally a little mild caramel, before a nicely, neutrally bitter finish.
West Coast backbone and bitter finish, reasonably sweetened up front and tolerably moderated in back by the blood orange, to the loss of more interesting aromatics, and probably also some head retention.

I got a can of this beer from my good friend and old neighbor from the 'Wego whose son....Sixx...Roll Tide Roll.... it poured a slightly hazy copper with thin white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had blood orange essence. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with orange peel and red grapefruit presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a good beer.

On draft at the brewery.
Pours a deep golden orange color with a nice two finger head of foam and a heavy amount of lace as the beer dissipates.
Really nails the blood Orange nose, with hints of sweet malts. Overall a very sweet, citrusy, malt-forward nose.
Bright orange flavors hit first, and follow with a bitter combination of citrus pulp and hops. It lingers a little heavily and throws off the balance. But it’s 8.6%, and is pretty smooth with all things considered.
Medium weight and sharp carb, a crisp feel and a slightly sticky finish.
