Ginger Saison

August 12th, 2015 - I do like a delicate and balanced saison, but spicing things up can be nice, too. Groundswell provides the spice in their Ginger Saison, which strikes out boldly in the nose. A huge ginger note opens up the nostrils, followed by carrot juice. And the flavor is almost entirely dominated by the ginger flavor, like a ginger carbonated drink. It is crisp and clean, and sweetened a touch with pineapple, but it does taste more like a gourmet soda than a brew.
