August 12th, 2015 - Experiment #0010 is a Double IPA brewed with galaxy hops. And while it is hard to smell from the squat taster glasses they use here at Groundswell, I can still get some whiffs of bubblegum and grapefruit. The flavor is milder than I would expect for a DIPA, and isn't mind blowingly sweet (like I expected from the nose.) The hop profile is strong but rides a thinner profile. The alcohol note is also milder than I expected. It's not a bad little brew, but has been outshone by today's other tasters.

Pale orangey amber with an attractive foam in the Crroked Line tulip. On the sharp side but with a nice malty warmth.
This is brewed with Galaxy hops; I don't know if that's the usual hop for the DIPA or if they try different one. Galaxy is less intensely fruity than a lot of popular newer hops, but aromatic in its own way. Like cucumbers with a hint of pineapple. Refreshing, somehow, but distinctly resiny in the back of the throat.
Poured from the 32 oz growler filled at the brewery.
