We take our traditional lager recipe developed in the 1930s and marry it with a modern craft beer process. We are excited to re-release this great-tasting premium lager. Packed with quality ingredients, it’s carefully brewed in small batches using pure Wisconsin spring water. Our result: a crisp, refreshing lager that’s surprisingly diverse and light.

Ever since Drewrys showed back up on beer shelves near me, it's been the cheap lager of choice for me. At $6.99 for a 6 pack, it's a great deal and in my opinion is much tastier than the other big AAL beers. I especially like the fact that hops are present in the aroma and taste of this premium lager beer. Plus, my dad drank Drewrys back in the day. Nostalgia! In a good way.

Interesting beer! Twelve-ounce bottle into a straight-sided mug. Slightly cloudy dark amber, with two fingers of dense white head. Good retention. First, the aroma: I picked up a floral, almost perfumy, note that was quite pleasant. Malt forward, with hints of orange and orange zest on the palate. Excellent carbonation, with a little hop astringency and a crisp finish. No complaints here.

Single from Family Liquors, East Dubuque, IL. A regional nostalgia brand, currently produced in Black River Falls, WI.
Pours a dark saturated orange, slight haze, big billowing head of foam.
Aroma is typical, sweet malt and corn syrup.
Taste is a little better, malty with an earthy hop aftertaste. Kind of different. Aftertaste lingers a little, mildly grassy. Light bodied and overcarbed, very fizzy. Overall it wasn’t terrible, but nothing special either.

This is CANother from my backlog, originally dropped off for my by my local, in-person trader, @tone77 for The CANQuest (tm). Apparently, it was in need of an approved pic before I CANtinued & then it fell into the backlog. 8=( All is now in readiness!
From the CAN: "Craft Brewed with the Finest Ingredients"; "Founded in 1877".
The Crack!ing open of the vent went off without a hitch so I CANtinued with a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting Pilsner glass. It foamed beautifully to form just under two fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, eggshell-white head with excellent retention. Color was a beautiful Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7), enticing The Gelt Gang of Midas, Mammon & Croesus to drop in for a sip. The smell was classic AAL, a real throwback to the beginning of The CANQuest (tm) when most CANned beers were AALs. It smelled of sweet silage - fermented corn to be fed as slop to pigs. It is a flawed style, but one must rate to style & not to personal taste. Mouthfeel was medium, but solid for an AAL. The taste was sweet fermented corn overlaying the malts with nary a hint of bitterness. 8=p Finish was likewise sweet & while okay for the style, it was NOT okay by me. YMMV.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a very light golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is grains, a good bit of corn. Taste is malts, corn, some sweetness, refreshing. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall a decent beer, better than most at this price point.

Usually pick up a 6er of this when I visit South Bend. 4.99 a 6 pack is a good price for this. Smells like corn syrup when you crack open the can, sugary notes. Definitely tastes different than any macro with the sweetness but the drinkability of this beer is excellent. Clean finish could easily drink 12 of these no problem good summer brew.

Served from a can in a Second City glass.
Okay, I had heard of this from some old-timers not too long ago, so when I saw a $5 sixer, I had to indulge for the sake of it. It pours a clear brass topped by about a finger or so of off-white foam. The nose comprises bland grains, light sweet corn, and a touch of sweetgrass. The taste brings in more of the same, coming across very similar to Genny Cream Ale. The body is relatively light, with a light moderate carbonation and a slightly creamy feel. Overall, this may not be the apex of flavor or brewing science, but it is a fairly tasty, easy-drinking beer. Straight up. Since Lake County doesn't seem to wanna pick up Genny Cream for whatever reason, I guess I'll just haveta go with this stuff for my go-to inexpensive beer. Right on.
