Big Top Brewing Company "Strawberry Ginger Berliner Weiss"
on tap at the brewery 3 July 2015, $5 pint
Appearance: Glowing cloudy light orange body beneath a thin collar of bright white (which can be common with sour beers).
Aroma: Distinctly grainy with a funky sour component as if you ate a lot of Cheerios and then threw up (I know it sounds negative, but quite often sour beers will have that acidic funk like you find in vomit). Vanilla. Ginger and strawberry make an appearance as well.
Flavor: Not nearly as funky as the aroma suggests, but still acidic. Unfortunately the other components don't come through as strong as you might wish them too.
Mouthfeel: Light-medium in body and crisp.
Overall: Although not as clean as it could be for a Berliner Weiss it's not bad.
