Since Texian is located on FM 359, we wanted to name our Farmhouse-style saison after the road that makes it possible for you to come visit us. FM 359 is brewed with a mixture of domesticated saccharomyces yeast strains as well as some “wild” brettanomyces yeast strains as well as lactobacillus bacteria.

Pours a very cloudy amber color with a finger width carbonated head that quickly dissipates. Lacing is good. Very tart aroma. Raspberries predominate. Blackberry is very mild in the background. Tart up front with some raspberry that quickly goes to a stronger blackberry flavor. A tad bit oaky at the end. Something is a little off with the aftertaste. Light bodied with heavy carbonation.

25.4 oz. bomber poured into tulip
(no dating on bottle; $11.79 at HEB, Villa Maria, Bryan, TX)

L: amber tinged toward a hot pink, misty but no debris, about 20% clear and looks like it's clearing up around the edges -- the color is fantastic, looks like clear gold as it pours out, but when it starts piling up in the glass it takes on the red color; pushes up barely a 1/2-inch head of white/offwhite foam off a very hard pour -- the foam is eating away itself quickly, dissipates rapidly into almost nothing, just one thin line of bubbles forming a collar

S: musty barn, wet hay, dusty raspberry ... dusty like an abbey ale, lots of yeast; fruit gives it lots of sweetness

T: much more earthy than the nose, but the earthy note is not bitter dirt -- it's more of a yeasty, dusty flavor that fits in perfectly with a musty barn and sweeter raspberry flavor midswallow that smooths out into a bit of oak and slightly tart fruit in the aftertaste; tartness is mild, just a little lemon peel

F: ale soft, watery ... almost feels flat at first, but there's a pinch of prickly carbonation

O: solid effort by Texian; a bit yeasty in the flavor but the musty barn/fruit sweetened mix of notes is spot on; the mouthfeel is disappointing -- I was really hoping for a big Belgian burst of carbonation but instead it has the almost-flat feel of many American-style saisons and "sours"; there's better out there, but it's good enough that I'll definitely try some more Texian brews. and for a fruit "sour", it's deftly done ... the brewer erred on the side of beer, not fruit soda, and that deserves a hearty pat on the back

Pours a cloudy/hazy reddish pink color with pinkish head. Wheat, dark berries, tartness, and funk on the nose; follows onto the palate. Light bodied. Finishes with berries, tart, and dry.

Drinking this beer on a work night. Bought a 750mL (not sure if its offered in other sizes).

L - Very nice bottle. Docked points for no ABV/BOD. The beer itself is a reddish tangerine.
S - Advertising that it is aged on Raspberries and Blackberries. The smell is the best thing about this beer. Though it kind of smells like wine, which is strange for a beer.
T - Very sour. I typically drink IPA, so may just be my inexperience with "farmhouse-style saison". You definitely get the bitterness of the raspberries and blackberries. After taste reminds me of a cheap red wine.
F - It's smooth, but the bitterness makes me dock points.
O - Other's may enjoy this but I personally did not.
