Do I need extra time for this one. A kolsch that reminds me of a Hefeweizen, this one has some qualities of a Hefe and the time it would take to explain that would be too extra. This is crisp, light clean and refreshing.

12 oz. Can
Canned On: 08/24/18
Poured into a tulip a pretty nice clean/clear golden yellow color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy two-finger white head, which leaves some pretty nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, hoppy, yeasty, nice little citrus note (lemon, peach, mango). The taste is pretty nice, malty, yeasty, hoppy, with a nice little citrus note (lemon, peach, mango), nice little sweetness. Medium body, ABV is hidden very well. Overall, a pretty tasty brew.

Happy New New Holland/Belgium Beer Sunday (Week 698) as The CANQuest (tm) CANtinues to roll through a backlog of CANs! I have been CANticipating today for over a week as I cleared space in the reefer in preparation. Dr. Joel Armato of New Holland has been alerted & all systems are Green & Go!
From the CAN: "Proudly Brewed in Holland, Michigan"; "American Session Beer"; "Easy*Crisp[*]Refreshing".
Having Crack!ed open the vent, I beCAN a slow, gentle Glug into the awaiting glass. I watched as it gently foamed up to create two fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with really good retention. Color was an oh-so-slightly-hazy Straw-Yellow (SRM = > 2, < 4). Nose smelled very grassy, like Noble hops had been used. Say, in looking at the "Notes/Commercial Description", this is a Kölsch! 8=( I will send an update, but I am going to review & rate it as a Kölsch. This would also account for the light pear & apple fruitiness on the nose. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, about par for the course. The taste was more towards a biscuit maltiness than grassy, but it also retained a lightly fruity quality as noted on the nose. I really liked that it was a "Session Beer" without being a "Session AIPA". It was eminently drinkable & very quaffable. I found myself really plowing through this beer without a seCANd thought. Finish was very dry, very biscuit & crackery with a light grassiness. It is CANother good CANidate for filling the cooler when headed to the beach this summer. Just bear in mind - it is NOT an AIPA!

As stated in my prior review, sitting around on a Friday night watching my Cleveland Indians get smacked up by the Minnesota Twins. Haven't had a new holland brew in awhile. Lotsa nostalgia surrounding these guys. Let's see what we get.
Look - Pretty clear yellow with a tint of orange in the mixture. Two finger head that appears quite frothy and sticks around for awhile. Carbonation is moderate and the head died to a thick film upon the top in a few minutes.
Smell - Lemony and floral as all get out. Has the scents you'd expected from the vast majority of canned IPA brews but it doesn't hint at the over bearing sweetness some of them can take on. Smells tougher than it's ABV implies.
Taste - The lemon turns to more of a melon and the flowers remain the same. Unusual though welcome addition of what appears to be some ever so toasted malts.
Feel - Medium bodied with a slight creamy factor and a higher moderate level of carbonation. Swallows easy and inoffensive.
Overall - Definitely a welcome difference in a world of boring copy and paste low ABV IPA beers available on the market today. Nothing universal but a pretty solid pounder from New Holland.

12oz can. I don't know what this beer is. I think it's what people order in movies and TV shows when they ask for a "beer". This site calls it an IPA. Another calls it a Vienna Lager. It uses Kolsch yeast. I dunno.
It was super pale yellow in appearance. It smelled like beer and tasted like beer. Toasted caramel, I guess. But it was just beer.

Looking for a good session summer beer. Here in GR, this, Founder's Solid Gold, and Bell's Oatsmobile seem to be aimed at the same craft light target. Tonight I am joint tasting Xtra and Oatsmobile. Xtra is a light yellow and slightly cloudy. The aroma is clean and a bit spicy. The moderately bitter taste is refreshing and very easy drinking, but missing some complexity. Overall, this hits the drinkability target, but unsurprisingly for a low alcohol beer, it is a bit mild in flavor. Oatsy seems to have a bit more noticeable malt and generally more interesting flavor profile if you are looking for that in your session brew. This seems to have replaced Paleooza at the 4.4% slot in the NH lineup.

I picked this brew up from the local beer store, in a six pack of cans. The appearance is a hazy yellow-gold color. The head is soapy white and leaves a wonderful lace. The aroma is pine and fruit. Interesting, hoppy, flavorful, and with a little malt character. Medium in body, semi-sweet, and enjoyable. Better than expected.

12 ounce can into signature pint glass, no can dating. Pours slightly hazy pale golden yellow color with a 2 finger dense and rocky white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts the whole glass. Thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of lemon, grapefruit, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of pale malt and citrus/earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, grapefruit, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, grapefruit, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and balance of pale malt and citrus/earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero astringent hop flavors after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth and moderately bready/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.4%. Overall this is a delicious session IPA. All around nice robustness and balance of pale malt and citrus/earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink; with the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Very flavorful for the low ABV. Balanced Topaz/Mt. Hood hops with Pils/white wheat malt. Simple, but works really well. Clean and well restrained yeast esters. A very enjoyable offering.
