On-tap and served in a 10oz snifter
A: dark brown body presents as opaque black but does show lightly around the edges of the glass; minimal khaki head and lacing, a proper-looking stout.
S: Nose of vanilla-forward brandy spirit, with notes of chocolate, oak, and faint coffee.
T&MF: More of the same on the palate, with a hint of coconut-y, oaky barrel that brings a nice underlying complexity. Notes of coffee and roast are present but subdued, this is mostly sweet but not cloying at all, and the body is medium in feel and very approachable with almost very alcohol presence - not sure on the vintage here? Very faint char and dark fruit component as well.
O: Overall one of the best Brandy barrel stouts I’ve tried; this is normally not a spirit barrel I care for that much.
