Black in color with no light penetration. There’s a fingernail of light brown around the rim. Light, soapy lacing is present. The aroma is faint, but of maple and bourbon. I’m tasting plenty of maple, some bourbon, and cinnamon. The mouth is thick and sticky.

Poured aggressively into a mug from a 12-oz bottle dated 4/15/22 and purchased recently at the brewery.
Appearance: Very dark brown — nearly black — with a massive tan head that lingered long and left abundant lacing.
Nose: Cinnamon roll right out of the oven.
Mouthfeel: Creamy, adequate carbonation.
Attack: Sweet bourbon, cinnamon and maple — more cinnamon than maple, but a nice mixture of the three.
Finish: Only slight bitterness from the roast, balancing the attack — most of the bitterness is overwhelmed by the continuing appropriate (not at all cloying) sweetness.
Overall: This is a very nice edition of Dragon's Milk Reserve — I'm enjoying it immensely!

On tap at the brewery's taproom in Grand Rapids Michigan.
Aroma. Lots of cinnamon and faint maple add to the bourbon and grains in the base beer.
Flavor. Plenty of cinnamon here too but not as overpowering as the aroma suggests.
Overall. Smooth and sweet with an exceptionally appealing aroma ... recommended version of DM Reserve.
