A 10-oz pour into a small tumbler at the brewery.
Appearance: Black, tiny off-white head lingered long, leaving moderate lacing.
Nose: Wonderful! Oatmeal cookie, brown sugar.
Mouthfeel: Smooth, light creamy, some carbonation.
Attack: Roasted malt, cookie, complex and balanced, cooked sugar sweetness.
Finish: Nice mild bitterness from the roast.
Overall: The name of this beer says it all — a perfect brunch ale, which was when we drank it. Tasted it in a flight, had to order more. Nice job, New Holland — you need to bottle or can this!
