Very dark brown with a ruby glint. Starts out like a stout with a big scorched malt flavor. Sweeter, however, and a bigger maltiness than expected for the low alcohol. Modest head but nice sparkly mouthfeel. Low bitterness, but enough hops for balance (listed at 21 IBU). Pleasant fruity taste is reminiscent of English Milds. Light and watery body makes it a good refresher. Nice nose of dark roasted grant. Interesting variation on the brown theme.
