Poured a slightly cloudy golden, with bits of yeast sediment, forming a decent white head which thins quickly atop small to medium sized bubbles, leaving wisps of lace at the sides. Carbonation is moderate. Mouthfeel is bright and crisp, with a medium-light body. Aroma speaks "Quality Pilsener"...fresh with green Saaz hops, a firm, bready maltiness, mild freshly mown hay, and a soft water character. This may be fermented with an ale strain, but it is definitely a pilsener in every other way. Taste starts out with a full, spicy Saaz flavor, and if you've ever eaten crystal malt 20, you'll instantly recognize it here...lots of bready, grainy crystal malt body, ending in a somewhat floral, moderately aggressive bittering hop complemented by a lingering sweet malt finish. Very crisp, clean, and refreshing with no appreciable off-flavors. A very well done Pilsener, 2nd to Bell's Beer for best Pilsener in Michigan.
