We aged Ichabod in our NHAS Michigan Rum barrels for about 6 weeks. The aging tones down the spice flavors and slightly accentuated the pumpkin tones. You might also pick up some residual rum and vanilla tones from the barrel.

The color is a medium brownish orange, slightly translucent.
The smell is slightly sweet from rum barrel notes with a hint of spice.
I can pick up on the pumpkin flavor in the taste, slightly roasted, as well as notes from the rum barrel and spices used. I picked up the taste of all spice which is interesting since all spice is a native Jamaican spice so pairs well with rum. It's a fairly smooth beer, but very interesting as the flavors changed on my pallet with a nice progression so I picked up different flavors at different times and that made the beer quite enjoyable.

Nh rum ba ichabod

Fizzy beige head. Looks flat. Color is a clear golden orange.

A: ichabod with a little bit of rum spice. Barely noticeable.

T: the barrels show a little more here, but they blend in with the base beer flavors. Hardly noticeable.

Mouthfeel: spiced. Lighter bodied with a low amount of carbonation. Ends somewhat clean.

Overall, a very mediocre barrel aged beer. Barrel flavors hardly showed. Nothing to special.

Rum barrel aged on tap at Chappys tap room. Pours with very little head. Aromas of all spice, light rum, hints of oak and cinnamon. Flavors are nearly the same nice character from the rum barrel oak added a layer of vanilla. Unfortunately the beer was nearly flat and I think it really muted the aroma, taste and mouthfeel.
