Serving type 22oz bottle received as a gift from a gentlemen of NHB.
Thanks buddy.

AP:Ruby red with tangerine and orange highlights at the edge very clear and a white head with good lacing. Head leaves fairly quickly.

AR:Sniff oh shit.... Tartness Abound!!! Tart Cherries and brett straight up front followed with a good malt profile low hops and barrel just behind. Pretty much what I would expect from a sour.

TA: The sourness takes the lead on this beer although the malt presence is there it is just cut short by the Tart cherries and orange rhine, What malt you do get is very sweet much like a light caramel and nutty bread type malts. A bit of Oak on the finish, Very complex but still feels a little separated.

MF:Light bodied medium high carb, sour puckering (of coarse) that leads to a dry finish

OA: This is a damn good sour, Very Complex but not totally together yet for me. If you are in to sour beers I would give this a shot I will be trying it again soon to see if the beer has changed much .

Served on-tap at the brewery. I might not be the best reviewer for a sour ale as it was my first.

A: An amber/brown color with a wet and puffy head that leaves a ring and laces where it contacts the glass, not a sticky head.

S: To me it smells like a shot of Jaeger or a whisky sour. Sugary and somewhat acidic.

T: Kind of like the nose, it reminded me of a mixed drink with sour mix. Some fruity sweetness and acidic tastes to make it sweet and sour.

M: Juicy, it was wet with a light body. The aftertaste didn't make me think anything more or less of it.

On tap @ the brewery.

Pours a clear, fire-like amber color with a thin ring of white head. Slight lacing.

The nose is funky as hell and alerts me of a tart treat. Dark cherries, pear, sour-funk, and a light caramel sweetness.

The taste has a nice sweetness and tartness integrated. Cherries are sour, dry oak, nutty malt, and sweet caramel are noticed.

The mouthfeel is highly carbonated and medium-light bodied. Tart and lip-smackingly good.

Overall, the malt goes well with the sour attributes and creates great flavors. Check it out!

I had one of the last pours of this at Gravity Head 2012 on 02/24/12. The owner of the New Albanian Brewing Co. had it listed as a special blend for the event...

A – Dark burnt orange/warm chestnut in color. Fairly opaque, and has a watery syrup consistency. No head on this one with a small amount of lacing that was lines, not sheets.

S – Big apple cider vinegar followed by caramelized sugar.

T – Vinegar! This is a big sour. Oak, cherry, rum raison, and raspberry tartness in the finish.

M – Alight alcohol burn with medium body and carbonation, which is nice for the consistency of the brew.

O – A nice big sour and fairly complex. It took a minute to find the complexity due to the sourness. I’m glad I got to try the “2012 Gravity Head Blend” because it was gone within 5 minutes of my ordering my pour.
