Ashy, dark chocolate, good roast flavor. Had it on nitro so it was presented with a creamy head, uniform lacing, Deep black. Weightless body, smooth feel. Smoky chocolate aroma.

Appearance: Arrives with the characteristic black liquid capped by a nice tan head that sheets the tulip glass
Smell: Roasty, almost ashy, with black licorice and clementine orange
Taste: Black bread, licorice and chocolate, up front, with growing roasty flavors underpinned by tropical fruit and clementine orange; bitter, dry and slightly ashy, in the finish
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body; somewhat creamy, with moderate carbonation
Overall: This is one of those surprises you get from time to time; expecting an Irish Stout and got a really creative twist on the style; my first beer from this brewer but hopefully not my last

This beer has 55# of Brewer's Gold with additions of nugget , centennial and a New York heritage hop. Making this a very hoppy stout. I really do love this beer. I did grow the hops and barley for this beer so that may color my thinking. The ABV is 6.5 Get it well you can because there won't be anymore until next harvest.

Wonderful velvet feel to a surprisingly hoppy stout. Love the use of the NY hops and barely - hope the local trend continues!

The beer has heavy roasted malt, chocolate, and light coffee in the aroma.
The flavor has a thick chewy mouthfeel in the front, with coffee roast and a lingering licorice bitterness.
