Picked up a 32oz fill at last weekend's citra/all green everything can release. Enjoyed from an other half snifter.
a - brew pours a deep mostly opaque sienna orange with anthin fizzy head that didn't hang long. Oily skin of bubbles on the surface. Orange to the light.
s - nose is on the sweet side with some nice sagey floral notes, but the malt dominates. Light toasty crystalized malts.
t/m/o - as advertised in the nose, dominated by a lightly toasted crystalized malt. Some floral and honey notes add a spark to the middle and then finishes extremely dry with a bittery linger in the aftertaste. I like a good biere de garde and this is nice, but for an imperial bdg this doesn't match my love of southamptons french country xmas ale which has more of a balanced sweetness. This one has some zing and spiciness to set it apart, but other than that, fairly forgettable and not the kind of thing i would revisit time and tome again, though i do like the flavor. Feel is crisp and refreshing but not a big fan of the finish. All in all decent beer, i would expect something a bit more spectacular when 2 breweries like this who are both putting out great beer put thier heads together to concoct a brew. Either way glad to have tried it.

From 04/01/15 notes. On tap at Gingerman in NYC.
Pours a hazy reddish-orange color with one inch of white head and moderate carbonation evident. Lots of floral notes, lightly sour, honeysuckle, citrus hops, bread, salt, jam, and strawberries. Medium body and low carbonation, super easy to drink.
Overall very tasty, fruity and lightly sour, especially the taste, but not a lot. Very drinkable. refreshing, would like to have it again.
