Welcome back to New New Half of the Other Glarus Beer Sunday (Week 781)! India This, as well as everything for today, came to me CANtesy of my H NIght Trivia Team, Bert & Dana, not to be CANfused with Bert & Harry of Piels fame.
From the CAN: "India Pale Ale".
A Tired Hands CANlaboration!?! I'm VERY thankful to Bert & Dana, but if they had gotten shot getting this one for me …
I Crack!ed open yet CANother brimful craft CAN, revealing itself through a spritz across my fingertips! 8=O I then quickly beCAN a slow, gentle C-Line Glug just to see what was what. This resulted in the formation of just over a finger of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with excellent retention, leaving behind some fine lacing as I set up the photo op. Color was a deeply-hazy/lightly-cloudy Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7). Nose was rich with honey while the hops were an exotic mélange, a ménage a quatre, apparently. I love when the French play a part in my reviews! I CANnot honestly say that I could have pinpointed any one particular hops strain, but neither were they being shy about asserting their presence. Mmm. Mouthfeel was medium, but silky smooth on the tongue, easy on Sunday morning. Baby, let's get it on! The taste was beautiful, man, just beautiful. I was still diggin' on the honey honey, but the chick poured some Sauvignon Blanc in the form of Nelson Sauvin hops & it was beCANming a groovy scene, man! I mean, like far out & outta sight, dig? I liked the earlier Motueka, but it lacked the bitterness that I crave as a wigged-out hophead. This was bringin' it, but not like an outta CANtrol freight train, but instead in a smooth, gentle way that allowed me to go on the nod … OVERDOSE?!? Is that what they were referring to?!? Oh, man, baby, I gotta find that Naloxone! Oh, it's just a CANic attack? I'm not having an overdose, just an Oat Overdose? Phew. Man, I'm glad you were here to talk me down, baby. That was potentially a bad trip! This beer, however, is about as good as CANything in a while! The oats may not have added much in the flavor department, but wow, did they ever smooth out & round the edges on the bitterness while adding a slick CANponent, eh, Slick? Hey, man, when did you arrive? Yeah, dude, of course I'm looking to score! I got this doll with me & she's totally into the whole hops scene. You CAN fix her up with CANother of these? Man, you the man, man! Not THE MAN, since that would be totally uncool, dig? Yeah, it's all real cool & mellow here on the finish. Semi-dry to dry, but I don't have that gasping s**t going on where I have to reach for my asthma inhaler. Man, the ex-Old Lady & I used to have a gig where since we mutually had asthma, we would dose the other as needed. I'm finished here. YMMV.
