Citra + Motueka Imperial IPA is hopped with two of our favorites, Citra and Motueka, and brewed with lots of wheat and oats. Bursting with lots of soft fruit character.

Canned 2/17/17 (SAY NO MO). Enjoyed 3/18/17.
Look: Deep orange, brownish. Nice foamy head that lingers, well blended. (7/10)
Smell: Lemon, honey, grapefruit, mint, grass. (8/10)
Taste: Sweet apple juice, cider, mango, grapefruit, honey, molasses, butter, bread. (8/10)
Feel: Pleasant upfront, with a nice mellow bite. Aftertaste kills the beer, very yeasty. (7/10)
Overall: Another great offering from OH, but not their best. I favor their ddh series as do most, and this doesn't touch that selection. A must try, but definitely not a top contender. (7/10)

Poured from a 16 oz can (Canned 2/17/2017) into a Veil Teku
Appear: dark dark orange haze. really dark. big thick pillowy dense head. off white egg shell. pretty.
Nose: nice balance of dank and tropical citrus fruit notes. Not a huge nose. definitely some MJ dank green notes. THey blend in with over ripe mango and pineapple candied grapefruit peel. not too bad. little lime. lemongrass maybe.
Taste: I get some interesting caramel biscuity malt flavors that blend into the tropical fruits of mango passionfruit and lime. alot more lime on the palate. I think that actually might be the biggest citrus note. THe malts tho balance it out so that it's not really tart. kind of interesting.
Mouth: solidly medium body. slight booze burn on the aftertaste.
Over: a more malt forward Imperial IPA from the boys at OH. I think I like it. I'm just not sure I love it. And I'm pretty sure I wouldn't seek it out again. Not NE stlye at all don't come looking for that from this beer. However if you know going in tho that this isn't that and you have an open mind it's a nice IIPA.
