Tremendous Ideas was a collab we originally brewed with Cloudwater in Manchester, UK. Brewed with 50% Golden Promise and 50% oats and hopped heavily with Citra, Vic Secret and Huell Melon. This beer was fermented with a combo of JW Lees yeast (which can only be sourced directly from JW Lees), sent to us by Cloudwater from Manchester, and American Ale yeast.

This was yet another beer that I got at Other Half on one of their famed Saturday releases. Excited to give something a go from Cloudwater and like much of their other recent offerings, the can art was just as good as the beer on the inside. The oats and JW Lees yeast combined to give an end result that was sweet and full, nearly hiding the alcohol completely when all was said and done.
Dated 7/27 with "FRESH IDEAS" written below it, this poured and looked fresh as the liquid was a deep apricot with minimal head and even less lacing left behind on the side of my teku glass once I started to sip this. Lots of melon, orange cream, and tangerine in the nose as the oats came in in the taste. The citra gave this slickness but the oats lent themselves to a rough aspect that was counterbalanced by the melon undertone and tangerine cream that gave this a nice, understated flavor. Odd yeast and a bit of earthy, wild dankness rounded things out but this was a smooth sipper that surprised me because of how unique it tasted from start to finish.
A nice slickness was left behind as well as a bit of lactose that would remain had this actually had milk in it. Plenty of bite lingered too as the oats held on for the duration, which is not the case for every beer that has them as an ingredient! Not quite tremendous, this was a great idea that deserves another go-around in a future release!

The OH collaboration that I was most looking forward to trying from a couple releases ago.
Pours a murky opaque gold, small head of foam, not much lace retention.
Piney and bitter but immediately met with a juicy tropical bomb of aroma that balanced this out with perfect harmony.
You get subtle tangerine combined with strong notes of grapefruit here. Even so, you get a strong hop balance, and it's so easy to drink and enjoy at 8%. I haven't had anything from Cloudwater before so it's hard to compare, but you get a lot of those quality OH characteristics that automatically give it quality looks in my opinion.
An awesome collab! Still have yet to try Enigma and DDH Cheddar from this release, but this definitely gets the edge over Bud's Life. Both great beers, but I love the aggressive hop/ citrus balance in this one.
