Canned 4.5.2022 (2 months old)

Appearance: Pours a nearly completely hazy (0-5% clarity), bright and light yellow color with a strong white head that fades. SRM of 6. Vibrant colors. (4.50)

Aroma: Strong aromas of pineapple, passionfruit, orange, some lychee, then tropical mango notes underneath. Some orange pulp lingers, and more mango as it warms.

Flavor: Strong and juicy flavors of pineapple, orange pulp, citrus, with some papaya, cantaloupe, and tropical mango flavors underneath. Some orange pulp and vegetable and herbal notes provides a hop astringency that lingers off the backend. Similar to the astringency of uncooked broccolli, but not the flavor. This is no predominant though. Lots of smooth orange and tropical notes to finish

Feel: Medium to heavier bodied. Moderate carbonation. Pretty creamy. A pulp burn, but ultimately sweet on the finish.

Compared to Modist/OtherHalf Tator Tot Hotdish 6/5/22: Pours a darker, slightly clearer, stronger head. Aromas somewhat similar, slightly heavier. More orange pulp, tropical notes. Less citrus rind.

Overall: A fantastic NEIPA. It has nice orange pulp, pineapple, and tropical notes. An orange juice pulp hop burn, but also an array of other complex flavors develop. Some more cantaloupe and mango as it warms. I didn't get the green notes as much as described and others have mentioned, but that may be more apparent if it's more fresh. Appearance and the tremendous smooth and creamy body is what separates this beer. Incredibly drinkable. (Rating: 4.34)

Pours a murky yellow orange color with a nice billowy white head. Very nice dank hoppy aroma. Flavor is mainly tropical fruits: pineapple, mango, guava, some citrus, pretty dank. Medium bodied with a nice sweetness to it. Overall a tremendous IPA, I’ll buy this any day of the week.

Had originally scored offa fresh can and found it a bit more bright carbonation wise than I prefer, and found the malt good but hop bill a little more dank than I hoped. Scored @4.25.
Just opened another can about 6 weeks out and “wow”. Smooth as silk; super rich but not sweet malt; and a much better rounded blend of hops. Surprisingly went from one of my lesser preferred OH to one on my favorites. Not a brewer; not a chemist... but something took off more like I’d expect from a bigger perhaps BA beer/ ages well.
Go figure.

I drank this when it was super fresh (>1.5 weeks if I recall correctly) and the flavors were in your face! I would of loved to let another one sit for a month to taste the difference because I could see this beer really coming together with more time.

L - yup, that's haze alright. Peachy orange glow. Minimal head with just a ring when all is said and done.

S - honestly smells like EBF. It's the strangest thing, but I'm hit with a blast of nostalgia. Green melon, grapefruit, and zesty white grape.

T - pungent and potent. There's a unique flavor profile I'm not used to. Lime, grapes, sourdough, and sweet candy-like fruitiness, albeit maybe a touch unripe. Green banana, white bread, and the juiciest part of the papaya. Hints of vanilla and inklings of pineapple. This is a strange beast. Pleasant finish with mild numbing and a grassy, vivid earthiness.

F - low in carbonation, almost nitrogenated in feel, but retains a liveliness and light prickle at the end.

O - gotta say, this is different. Green is a good descriptor, with careful use of unripe fruits and vegetal characteristics without losing its disgustingly delicious NEIPA qualities.

Medium-pale gold beer, hazed to opacity, under a couple of fingers of white head that trailed arms of lace down the glass... Typically citric and tropical fruit impressions abound in this New England-style IIPA from Other Half, providing zing and tingle in a soft, smooth, amply carbonated malt body... Featuring Motueka, Mosaic, and Chinook hops, this is yet another quality entry in the flooded NEIPA style from one of the masters at brewing them... 2/15/18 canning...

This beer pours a completely opaque golden yellow color with a slight orange hue and a two finger, pillowy, creamy, bright white head. Retention is excellent and there are many filmy rings and chunks of lacing left on the glass.

Smell is candied orange, resinous pine, mango and pineapple. Super bright and dank.

Taste is similar with a little bit of sweetness and a kiss of alcohol on the finish. Very juicy with no bitterness.

Feel is medium, soft, juicy and creamy. Low carbonation. Very easy drinking for the abv.

Overall this is a great beer. I was surprised that there was next to no bitterness. I love "juice bombs" but I actually think if there was some bitterness on the finish it would have rounded out the sweetness and alcohol. Still pretty excellent though.

Acquired from brewery on release day, poured vigorously into a teku for maximum foam. Nice 2 finger head that lingers and laces. Dark orange and brown haze, nicely blended. Sweet candy, cotton candy, bubble gum, spices on the nose. All carry over to taste, but a couple unpleasant notes on tastebuds. Smooth drink that mellows and balances nicely, more harsh than anything. This is an interesting brew that opens up nicely. It comes off way too harsh at first, but balances into a nice refreshing and complex brew.

Pours cloudy gold orange color with a big 2 finger white foamy head that was packed with small bubbles, dissipating very, very slowly and leaving excellent foamy lacing with thick foam rings clinging to the glass as it dropped. Another great looking OH DIPA, which is pretty standard at this point.

Smells of pineapple, grapefruit, lemon, mango, butterscotch, lime, melon, citrus fruit/citrus hops, green apple, tropical fruit, faint caramel, graham cracker, piney hops, coriander, wheat bread, fresh cut grass and dank mildew-like weed. Tropical fruit, weed and some floral spices make a complex nose salad from the use of Chinook, Mosaic and Motueka hops. It's not well balanced since the malty backbone is minimal, but it smells really damn good.

Tastes brings more balance with toasted grains joining the sweet malt, faint caramel, graham cracker, piney hops and wheat bread crust before the juicy citrus flavors wash away any malt holdout. Like the nose, the citrus flavors include grapefruit, pineapple, lemon, mango, lime, green apple, melon, dank citrus hops, tropical fruit, a touch of booze, white grapes or white wine, tangerine, butterscotch, coriander, really subtle peppery spices and tea leaf or other earth notes. This brew seems dry hopped and is full of flavor, with each sip bringing out something a little different.

So smooth, the mouthfeel is creamy like this is another OH brew where oats were used to smooth it out and help it slide down easy with minimum carbonation, a light bitterness and some texture that trails off on the sweet side as the citrus hops and flavors seem to fade on the dry side. This hides the 8% ABV masterfully. Overall another great OH offering.
