Canned 11/30/17. ‘Blue Cheese vs Ranch’.
Like it’s Wangies counterpart, orange juice colored body with sticky white foam that clings to the glass.
Sweet citrus nose, with a slight bitter burn on the nostrils. Hints of apricot and melon as well.
Bitter, present booziness, and a citrus explosion greet the palette. A slight spicy burn down the hatch which I thought was pleasant and hugely appropriate. Clear apricot notes finish this out.
Smooth, juicy, creamy, and sticky. Crazy 10+%, and a stickiness emerges down the hatch. I loved this.

Traded for this beer when I was gone in November, finally getting around to it tonight. Loved the smoothness of this but like it's regular counterpart, this didn't break any new ground for me. Smooth and creamy, it was tough to feel the rye in this when it came to the taste though this had plenty of body to it and went down very easily given the amount of alcohol that was present!
Not a bad pour to this as the liquid was a muted apricot with plenty of head to top it off. A good amount of soapy lacing was seen down the side of my Teku glass as the thin rings bled down into the ones below. Orange cream, soft melon, and candied sugar filled the nose with all of those being present in the taste. This felt like a dessert beer from the get-go as it was soft and sweet without a lot of hops, booze, or yeast to distract from the pleasing array of flavors. Loved the feel of this as was full and balanced and with a low amount of carbonation to boot. A gumdrop-like aftertaste carried me into the next sip as this went down so quickly...
...which was a shock given that this had a ton of alcohol in it. Yes, there was a warming effect but it took a while for it to kick in. A bit of an odd beer, this grew on me as it warmed up. Never felt the spice or the graininess from the rye but nevertheless, it was there when it came to the underlying bite and body of this beer. Solid stuff that kept the slickness and fruitiness of the Citra while being more than one-dimensional. Dated 11/30 on the bottom of the can with BLUE CHEESE VS RANCH written below it, I certainly was glad that I got a full 4-pack of this long-named beer!

32oz growler. Pours an opaque brownish orange with a thin layer of head that dissipates rapidly. The aroma is lots of tropical and citrus fruits. Sweet grapefruit, pineapple, mango, tangerine and candy. The taste is lots of grapefruit and pineapple with some more citrus fruits and a slight bit of floral hops. Finishes with some citrus peel, pineapple and piney hops. Not getting too much spice from the rye but it’s there. Nowhere near as boozey as I thought it would be after seeing the ABV. Medium to heavy body with a dry mouthfeel and low carbonation. Overall, another fantastic beer.
