From a 16oz can, undated... undated? Huh. Served in an IPA glass.
Pours a murky, dark and dull orange with a finger or so of soft, soap scummy suds. Retention is OK, leaving a heavy cap of cream and a thin curtain of slippery lacing.
The nose is muted and hard to pin down. Softly sweet with tropical fruit and damp breadiness.
Tastes of unripe peach and bread crusts, pineapple, cantaloupe and a mildly sweet, custardy, vanilla pudding-like character which is mostly experienced at the back of the mouth and in the sinuses.
Feel is creamy, mouth coating and medium-slick bodied with vigorous carbonation.
I’ve loved the entire oat cream series and I love this one, too, although maybe not as much as some of the others.

Solid IPA with amazing smell of citrus. On par with the best from New England including treehouse and Trillium. Feel was smooth with a silky texture.

2/4/19 can. Opened on 2/7/19
Double dry hopped Oat Cream IPA (NE)
Pours out a milky yellow-gold color, opaque. Thick white foam tower rises high in my long-stemmed Treehouse IPA glass. A decent amount of sticky icky lacing reaches down.
The nose is stunning: sweet, juicy and creamy aroma has a serious "wow" factor. Thick oats and cream(two of my favorite adjunct additions to the NE IPA styles) under a tropical juice and citrus style hoppy aroma. The tropical smell from the hops is very complex with a mix of wild berries and mango. The malt comes across as a grains-based, cream ale like smell that blends right in with the righteous hop aromatics.
The flavor is simply mind blowing. Like I said before, the oats and cream (perhaps just Lactose?) Addition makes for an amazingly smooth and silky mouthfeel and adds a very unique and complex effect to the flavor. Mouthfeel is lush and silky, but also light and airy.
The flavor of the bright and juicy hops is simply off the charts. Mango, orange, starfruit, earthy toned white pepper, golden grains and sharp pineapple are all represented in the hop profile. It's layer after layer of hop juice! The malt holds it all in-check with a cream ale with golden grains and herbal notes. Light malt but very effective.
Stunning flavors, silky feel and crazy aromatics makes this one of my favorite "special" New England IPA's. I just love the oats and cream with a killer hop profile. Oh....yeah! Dream!
