This was yet another dual hop beer from Other Half that I bought and took a while to get around to. Most of the others like this have been wonderful and this was too as it was full of pineapple in every aspect. Soft and dank at the same time, this almost felt like juice, and not beer, which served as proof at how well Other Half's been nailing stuff like this in their lineup!
Canned on 4/15/18 with "BANGER" written below that, this had a pour just like pineapple juice with a minimal amount f head topping it off. That quickly settled but the lacing left behind was quite extensive as each thick ring settled down into the one below it. Dank fruit, tropical notes, and Hawaiian Punch filled the nose as the taste contained those with some lemongrass, grapefruit juice, and subtle pine keeping things fresh and lively. A light carbonation and aftertaste of exotic star fruit ensured that the flavors held their own as the overall profile of this beer wavered between juicy and dank while keeping my attention throughout.
Yes, there's booze here and I could feel the warming effect take hold well before the last sip. It's nice to have these Other Half offerings as they tend to feature hops that aren't terribly common, with the end result being something not like anything else I've had before. Sure, the label's nice but the liquid on the inside was just as wonderful - as evidenced by how quickly I polished this off...

On tap. Juicy hops, milky yeast, grassy hops. Taste is juicy, dank, really hoppy, medium herbal bitterness. Medium body and carbonation. Balanced, hoppy, tasty.

This one pours a very hazy light orange, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells super pineapple forward, with clean juicy grapefruit, lemon, and lots of pine.
The Simcoe adds some killer clean and refeshing bitterness here- piney like a forest in the Pacific Northwest. There's lots of juicy fruit character too- lots of pineapple, and grapefruit. This is a great hop combo.
This is soft, clean, and with a refreshing bitterness on the finish that keeps you coming back for more. It's very drinkable.
I've been really digging Other Half IPAs lately- they've really been hitting the spot.

Palate Contaminants: other beer
It's super hazy, of course, and the color is very light. Lots of fine white head that's leaving some good lacing.
The scent is pine. I mean, there's a little acidic, starchy fruit in the background, but this is about pine. Needles, sap, bark, wood... pine. More of a range would be welcome, but did I mention that it's very piney?
The taste isn't as piney. There's a pleasantly strong amount of citrus, lemon and orange, and the orange becomes stronger as it warms up. The sweetness level is slight, but the rest of the flavor comes across as fresh. Backing up a bit, the first taste is savory woodsiness. Maybe I'm also catching lemongrass, although at some point it does overlap with the namesake citrus. Not a hammer, by any means, but it is a pleasant beverage.
Carbonation is pretty well integrated. The aftertaste is that fresh orange, plus a little bit of bittersweet wood. Gotta be careful not to gulp this.
