Mellow Tone N’ Juice Imperial IPA (8.5%) is a collaboration with our great friend Rigs of Dad, brewed for our upcoming event at the Exit/In on 5/2/18 during the Craft Brewers Conference in Nashville. Lots of oats and shredded with Citra, Galaxy, Denali and Tomahawk powder.

Darned shame that I wasn't able to make it to the Craft Brewers conference in Nashville given that I went to school down there for three years in the late 90's. It's great to see the beer scene take off and to have this there would have been great - but only because of where this was brewed. Everything that was released with this had oats and a similar hop profile and even though this was old, I wasn't terribly impressed with this either...
Hazy, muted, and orange, this looked like juice with some head to top it off. At least the lacing was impressive as it covered up a majority of my pint glass once I started to sip this. Lots of citrus juice, orange, and oats in the nose as the taste contained all of those to an equal extent. Grass, vegetables, and urine entered the fray as this was quite light on the palate and dank at the same time. The oats gave this a full body but they seemed to dull this beer a bit as the flavors could have been more bold and bright. A slick mouthfeel and light carbonation made this pleasing but this felt more like exotic juice than a brew that I wanted to down...
The writing on the bottom of the can was illegible but at least there wasn't anything floating in the liquid or settled at the bottom when I finished this off. Love the label and how appropriate the name was but the lingering onion and spice afterwards just made this a bit to awkward for me to embrace. One go-around was enough but I still would have liked to have enjoyed this in the Music City!

Thank you robbie!!! Cracked fhe can filled the glass took a sip and happy am i. Another solid offering. This one leand towards the caramel side of the hop spectrum. It makes me think west coast for sure. None the less very tastey.
