Smoothness for days with big oats and a hint of lactose accompanied by huge doses of Galaxy.

Full thick creamy head on pale hazy slightly murky gold/ orange body. Soft fruity bubble gum nose. Explosive citrus, peach, papaya, banana, moderate Galaxy dank flavors. Perfectly deep velvet mouth feel. Overall an outstandingly rich DIPA from OH. Delicious and so smooth.
A favorite.

Drank from a 1 pt. (16 fl.oz.) can purchased at Fenway Beer Shop, Boston, MA
10/8/21
Served in a tulip
The beer poured a full bodied and completely opaque, yellow ochre hue and was topped by a finger-tall, super tight and creamy, off-white crown. The head quickly dropped to swirls atop the liquid. A spotty wall of lacing cascaded down the front of the glass and a streaky blanket stuck along the back.
The aroma was solid initially but a touch more subdued than I anticipated. Peach notes came through strongest. Perhaps some nectarine as well. Mango was also detectable. Bit of papaya too. As the beer warmed, the nose intensified. The peach presence turned sweeter and became more pronounced, as did both the mango and papaya. Touch of boozy warmth. There was a hint of dankness as well.
The flavor profile was solid initially but turned quite boozy and bitter on the back end and the finish. Peach and nectarine came through strong on the front end. Citrus notes were also detectable. Orange was most noticeable. Hint of mango. Tart lemon and pineapple notes appeared in the center. Lots of grapefruit and pithy grapefruit peel on the back end and in the finish. An intense bitterness lingered after the swallow.
The mouthfeel was perhaps the most impressive aspect of the beer. It was fuller bodied for the style. Super creamy, slick and smooth on the palate. The liquid contained a fine, moderate effervescence that was spot on for the style.
While the mouthfeel on Space Hallucinations was amazing and the aroma very solid, the flavor profile was much too pithy and bitter for my palate. All in all, this is a respectable beer but definitely not on the level of most hoppy offerings by Other Half.

This is... actually my first canned Other Half offering! That's weird, probably. I'm not sure what their distro is like in Mass, but I haven't really seen them around frequently at all, so I'm going to assume this isn't gonna really be a regular thing. Space Hallucinations was canned on 10/8/21, meaning this can is almost a month old. Luckily, this is a big ol' TIPA, so I'm thinking it'll hold up decently well.
Pours a fairly standard but decent looking opaque orange color with a sizeable head of chalky white foam that retains loosely at about a half-finger after the initial showing of two (or so) fingers of suds. Lazy but chunky lace show and legs that don't really stand out but that are definitely there; it's kind of a par-for-the-course NEIPA approach with this one, and that should satisfy most people who would be grabbing this one from their local store.
The nose has a lot of candied grapefruit, some red grape skin, notes of cannabis and dank earthiness, and a light mango sniff coming out as it opens up a bit. It's definitely a prominent and well-defined smell, dealing out a good amount of complexity while also making the ethanol presence known. Triple dry-hopped with Galaxy, it seems, and that hop doesn't feel like its usual self here. Could be that the month this has had on it has tampered with its typical profile, but it's still a beast in its own right. I'm not really sure about Other Half's weird "oat cream IPA" nomenclature, but I think it means they use lactose and a lot of oats. Not exactly novel or anything these days, but there is a hint of vanilla-like creaminess in the nose as well.
Tasty stuff, and definitely filling with a strong booziness and flavors of passion fruit, mango, and caramel-like malts backed up by dankness and a light earthy undertone. Soft and smooth profile with a little heat in the swallow. More ripe papaya and melon-like flavors coming out as it warms. This is a decent-enough TIPA that I would've probably liked to have had a bit fresher. However, it seems like a sticking point that breweries can't get beers like this to stay "fresh" for longer than a couple weeks. There's definitely something to be said for shelf stability, after all. Oh well.

Canned 16 days ago. Brewed at Brooklyn location
Suuuuper grape and mango forward, with a decent amount of that Galaxy-induced green onion/sweaty character. Explosively aromatic. Tasted more like El Dorado or Nelson than a Galaxy single-hop, interestingly. Quite sweet, which made all the flavors candy-like. Soft mouthfeel and very drinkable for the ABV

Canned 8/20/21 at Brooklyn.
L: Pours an opaque yellow-orange with a thin creamy white head that quickly dissipates, except around the rim. Incredibly thin coating of lacing.
S: Aromas of orange, pineapple, mango, cantaloupe, tangerine, ripe peach, and lemon/lime. And a touch of alcohol. Lots going on here, although nothing dominates. The ripe peach emerges beatifully as the beer warms.
T: Tropical fruit up front, then the citrus joins in a tasty melange. Finishes slightly dry and bitter. Some late warmth, as expected with the ABV. But not much.
F: Medium to low carbonation. Mouthfeel is pleasantly lighter than expected.
O: An outstanding TIPA. Full-flavored without being sweet or hot.

Pours a hazy orange with soft, fluffy head.
Smell is juicy and sweet with notes of mango, blood orange, pineapple, booze and some toffee.
Taste is intense, sweet, jucy and boozy. Notes of mango, orange, peach juice and bit of caramel. Quite drinkable and balanced despite it's heft.
Mouthfeel is thick, creamy and well carbonated.
Overall, a great TIPA, toeing the line between too much and balanced.
