Other Half Brewing Co. "Mmm... Fruit (Raspberry + Blackberry)"
16 fl. oz. can coded "10:43 01/26/22 O.C."
$6.75 @ Kunda Beverage, King of Prussia, PA

Notes via stream of consciousness: So what do we have here? A "Berliner Weisse Style Ale" at 6.5% ALC. BY VOL.? Impossible. Berliner Weisse have a low alcohol content, but I see where they were gooing with this. It's poured a pulpy pink foam head atop a hazy deep pink body. The aroma is fruity and I'm not finding any malt or suggestions of acidity. On to the taste... It's tart but then fruity-sweet. The raspberry hits me first but then the blackberry is there - that's pretty hard to do, and I'm impressed. Again, I'm not really getting malt, and there are no signs of a lactic or otherwise funky fermentation. That's also impressive if that's what they were going for. It finishes gently acidic, dry, and fruity. In the mouth it's medium bodied and lightly crisp. I wasn't expecting much of this but Other Half has come through again.

Hazy purple color with pink head. Aroma is pure berry jam complete with crushed pits, seems really natural. Taste is tart and fruity, like fresh berry puree with a light background sweetness. Medium body and carbonation. A really smooth, easy drinking and fruity berliner.

L - 1/2 finger pink head atop a maroon body.

S - mixed berries, brown sugar.

T - tart raspberries. I get a little blackberry too but not sure I’d know it was there if not for the name. No bitterness. Low sweetness. No booziness.

F - light body with average carb.

O - loving the tartness.

Pours the color you'd expect it to. Tons of berries on the nose. Tastes is sweet, rich, and smooth, with a slight tartness that leaves it perfectly balanced. Feels jammy and almost buttery going down, lingering in a good way. Could easily be compared to a melted popsicle, or liquefied sorbet. Whatever you go with, it's good.

This was an unexpected treat from the hazy IPA kings of brooklyn. Perfect tartness. Amazing feel and not too sour, not too sweet. Just a perfectly balanced berliner. bummed i passed on these cans.
