16oz. can into a Brooklyn Brewery snifter.
Nose is strawberry, lactose, and a distinct guava tartness. Creamy, fruity, and the guava really makes my mouth water... no detectable coconut though. Beer opens cinnamon, strawberry seediness, and vanilla. I get lactose in the middle mixed with an accented guava entrance. Heavy cream at the finish with a subtle coconut milk presence. This one's a little strange. The fruit profile is really nice but the milky, creamy overtones take away from this one. Body is light with moderate to ample carbonation. Rich and creamy on the palate and goes down accented with a slightly lingering finish. Again, just like the flavor, the contrast in feels doesn't quite do it for me.
I'm not on board with the lactose/creamy addition to this beer style.

This was yet another can from Other Half that I bought and took a while to get around to. Nothing stamped on the bottom but this wasn't new and it was evident when I poured it out and saw all the sediment in the liquid. This still tasted like juice as it went down easily as this didn't have anything keeping me from downing it quickly!
Bright, juicy, brassy hue to this which was marred by the sediment - but that was my fault and not a knock on this beer. Hardly any head as the foam quickly disappeared and there was even less lacing to be seen, as that quickly slid down after each sip. Tons of strawberry juice, strawberry patch, guava, and berry juice in the nose as the taste was just pure fruit from the get-go. I didn't detect any coconut in this as the sweetness and juice drowned out whatever malt and bitterness may have been in this beer. Lively on the palate, there was a syrupy tinge to the aftertaste that had this almost feeling like medicine of non-alcoholic cough syrup. The carbonation was moderate and just enough to keep this from feeling too heavy.
Booze? Was there any in here? I never felt it and maybe if I downed the other three cans that it came with, I'd notice a buzz. While not Other Half's best offering, this was fun and a diversion from their Imperial and New England-style IPA's that I've come to love from them. Hopefully, they will release this again soon so I can have it fresh and see if it's any better the second time around...

Pours a murky dark orange with a fat finger of light tan head. Short retention and modest lacing.
Big, fruity, lightly sour aroma with guava, berry, coconut and a touch of toasted malt.
Appropriately tart with strong berry and a touch of tropical fruit up front, and moderately strong coconut on the backend. There’s a hint of salt in the finish, which seems weird for a Berliner.
Super thick, creamy mouthfeel with great carbonation cutting through.
A very flavorful, superbly-crafted beer that’s a pleasure to try (despite the coconut, which is never my preference). If I had a four-pack, I’d be tempted to punch a couple up with a little tequila, vodka or rum.

Appearance: Arrives the color of pink grapefruit juice; the modest head leaves very little lacing
Smell: The strawberry, guava and coconut all make an appearance in the aromatics
Taste: Strawberry and guava forward with the coconut arriving next; the sourness from the wheat emerges, after the swallow
Mouthfeel: Light body with low carbonation
Overall: I like the flavor (very Cuban) but the mouthfeel is a little flat

L - 1/2 finger pinkish head atop a sunset orange body.
S - strong guava, a bit of strawberry. Not getting much coconut.
T - follows the nose. Light on the coconut, heavy on the tart guava. No bitterness. Low sweetness. No booziness.
F - medium body and carb.
O - very tasty, and more subtle than I thought it would be.

Light pink, almost peach-colored brew. Head production is good and retention is fine. Brew is shockingly hazy, with just shadows showing through the body.
Incredibly juicy nose: over ripe fruit, must, tartness. The guava really shines through; it smells like a Cuban pastry. Any strawberry or coconut fades into the background indistinguishably from the guava.
Flavor follows. There's a musty, milky tone I associate with BW, as well as a light tartness, and a savory, almost bacon flavor mid-palate. Around the second third, fruity tones really start to emerge, and by the back third, it's very much like chewing on a guava pastry, including a flaky, doughy presentation from the malt and wheat. The strawberries are noticeable more on the palate than on the nose, but blend with the guava rather than complement or set apart from them.
