Lots of hazelnut and chocolate in this great other half stout. Pours jet black with good amount of sweetness. Not a heavy amount of bourbon in this so very drinkable.

On tap at Other Half Rochester in Bloomfield, NY.
This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells like hazelnut cream, oak, bourbon, dark fruit, and chocolate fudge.
Like most OH stouts, this is pretty decadent. There's a lot of hazelnut, a nice swirl of vanilla and chocolate fudge, roasted nuts, and molasses. The barrel ties it all together very well, with lots of oak, just a touch of bourbon, and some dark fruit that might come from the red wine foudres.
This is thick, chewy, and very creamy, with a good level of carbonation, despite the heft. It's not very boozy tasting.
I like this one better than the almond/cinnamon/vanilla one, for sure.

L - 2-finger mocha head fizzles away in seconds, leaving behind a cola-black body.
S - chocolate is smellable from a mile away. Wow. Wine, vanilla, booze, wood.
T - tons of semisweet chocolate, followed by barrel. Red wine influence comes in next, with vanilla, booze, mixed nuts. No bitterness. Moderate-low sweetness. Low booziness.
F - medium body and carb.
O - So chocolate-heavy.

Pours a still black with no head formation. It's sticky and thick enough to cling to the glass after tipping the glass for a sip. Aroma is bourbon, cocoa, char, and roasted and toasted malts. Flavor profile carries a heavier density, hitting notes of roasted and toasted malts with char, cocoa, bourbon, and red wine layered between. The 13% ABV pokes through a touch giving it a bit of heat. Much more robust than the other Into the NY Night released at this time. Mouth feel is thick with a chewy, dense texture. Overall, more robust than the Into the NY Night done with coconut, but it does also carry a little more heat. Very good, thick stout loaded down with flavors.
